Mr. Zack Lu is an Assistant Lecturer in the Faculty of Arts. His work focuses on AI literacy, digital humanities, and educational technology. He is particularly interested in how emerging technologies can support humanities teaching, research, and student learning. 

In the Faculty, he teaches HUDT1001, HUDT1002, and AILT9009. His teaching introduces students to key concepts and practical methods in AI literacy, technology, and humanities-oriented digital practice. He's courses and workshops promote the critical and appropriate use of AI tools in academic writing, research design, and visual production. He also leads experiential learning activities, including field trips in the Greater Bay Area and internship-based learning visits to Beijing Tuyoo Games. 

As a member of the Arts Technology Lab, he supports teaching and research projects across the Faculty by advising on and guiding the use of digital tools, software, and technical workflows. He also manages student interns, advanced facilities, seminars, workshops, and Faculty-wide events. His recent work includes two summer programmes on AI storytelling and humanities research with digital technology. 

Before joining the University of Hong Kong, he worked at the Center for Education Innovation at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. His work there included authoring a guidebook on generative AI in higher education, developing frameworks for assessment design in response to AI, and experimenting with AI-integrated approaches to teaching and assessment. 

He holds an MA in Education from University College London and a BA in History from Durham University.
